Verification methods

Embed Verification:

You can verify in two ways: via an embed where the user clicks "Verify" to start the process. Use /config set embed to configure the channel.

Best practices for using Member Verification

1. Partial Verification

Partial and optional verification can be a valuable tool for managing role-based access within your community. This approach allows you to control access to specific channels or functions without requiring all members to go through the full verification process.

Benefits of Partial Verification:

  • Customized Access: Use verification to grant or restrict access to specific channels or functionalities within the server. For example, allowing only verified members to send images, share screens, turn on cameras, or access voice channels.
  • Flexibility: Maintain a balance between security and accessibility, allowing new members to join the community without initial barriers while protecting sensitive or important areas.
  • Ease of Management: Reduce the workload of the moderation team by automating access control based on roles and partial verifications.

2. Full Verification

It is important to always explain to your community why verification is necessary. Complete verification helps protect your community, creates a healthier environment, and eases the workload for your staff by reducing the amount of work needed.

Benefits of Full Verification:

  • Prevent Alternative Accounts, Fakes, and Bots: Full verification ensures that only genuine members can join, keeping out duplicate, fake, or bot accounts.
  • Age-Appropriate Content: Possibility to separate content for users under and over 18 years old, ensuring compliance with age restrictions and protecting younger members.
  • Enforce Permanent Bans: Prevent previously banned users from rejoining your community, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
  • Ease of Management: Reduce the workload of the moderation team.

By implementing full or partial verification, you add an additional layer of protection and organization within your server, ensuring a safer and more structured experience for all members.

GamerSafer Verification

1. Member

Activates the GamerSafer Verification for server members. It is mandatory to enable this for the other functions to work. Learn how to verify here.
  1. Create the “Verified” role on your server.
  2. Activate the “Members” card in the dashboad.
  3. Select the role your members should receive after verification. From our side, everything is fine now. If desired, configure text and voice channels to be visible only with this role.

2. Not verified member

Define a role to be assigned to new members of your server who need to complete verification. Servers that use Onboarding need to activate this feature.
  1. Create the "Unverified" role on your dashboard to be assigned to new members of your server who need to complete verification.
  2. Activate the “Not verified member” card in the dashboard. Servers that use Onboarding need to activate this feature.
    1. You need to configure the permissions for the "Not Verified" role to not see the channels you want or any other permissions you desire.
  3. For servers that use Onboarding: Give everyone role access to the channels. When a new member joins, they will receive this role to restrict their access to certain channels until verification is completed (you need to set this up manually for each channel).

Age or/and Doc ID verification [Premium]

3. Adult

Activates the adult verification on the server. From now on, all verified members will be assessed by two AIs to determine whether the user is over 18 years old or not. You need to activate the “Member” role before enabling adult verification on the server.
  1. Create the "Adult" role on your dashboard to be assigned to members who are at least 18 years old.
  2. Activate the “Adult” card in the dashboard.
  3. Assign permissions to the "Adult" role to access certain channels and features exclusive to adults.

4. Document Verified

Activates document verification on the server through the GamerSafer App. You need to activate the "Member" role before enabling Doc ID verification on the server.
  1. Create the "Document Verified" role on your dashboard to be assigned to members who have verified their documents.
  2. Activate the “Document Verified” card in the dashboard. This will ensure that only members who have verified their documents will receive this role.
  3. Assign permissions to the "Document Verified" role to access certain channels and features exclusive to verified members.
  4. Contact GamerSafer on Discord or via email at support@gamersafer.com, explaining why you need this feature activated.

5. Adult Document

Activates the verification for documents for adults on the server through the GamerSafer App. You need to activate the "Member" role before enabling adult verification on the server.
  1. Create the "Adult Document" role on your dashboard to be assigned to members who are at least 18 years old and have verified their documents.
  2. Activate the “Adult Document” card in the dashboard. This will ensure that only members who have verified their documents and are at least 18 years old will receive this role.
  3. Assign permissions to the "Adult Document" role to access certain channels and features exclusive to adults with verified documents.
  4. Contact GamerSafer on Discord or via email at support@gamersafer.com, explaining why you need this feature activated.

Advanced Settings

Limitation per GamerSafer account

Each face can only have one GamerSafer account. Therefore, control access to your server by limiting the number of Discord accounts connected to a single GamerSafer account (we recommend 1 Discord account). This way, you prevent alternative accounts from joining your community or at least ensure they go through your approval via verification records.

What happens if the user leaves the guild in the GamerSafer App?

If the user leaves the guild through the GamerSafer app, they will lose their role and can go through the verification process again. Therefore, if they lose their Discord account, they can verify another account by removing access from the previous one.

What happens if a banned member tries to authenticate or has another alternative account authenticated?

The GamerSafer user account will be banned from your community, resulting in the banning of all their accounts on the server, including any new ones. After this, it will no longer be possible for the user to go through verification with the GamerSafer account.

Age confidence

The Age Confidence feature allows you to set the security and trust level of the bot based on the user's declared age. This feature ensures that your community can manage access and permissions based on the perceived age of users, adding an additional layer of security and control.

Security and Trust levels
  • High: The user's declared age as an adult is confirmed by all algorithms. This level ensures the highest confidence that the user is indeed an adult based on multiple verification checks.
  • Medium (Recommended): At least one algorithm perceives the user's declared age as an adult. This level provides a balanced approach, offering reasonable confidence in the user's age while maintaining flexibility.
  • Low: The algorithms do not confirm the user's declared age as an adult. At this level, the server relies solely on the user's self-declaration.

Allowed Roles

The Allowed Roles feature enables you to configure which roles within your server are qualified to perform the verification process (embed and/or slash command). This feature helps you manage and control the verification process by designating specific roles that have the necessary permissions.

How to configure allowed roles for verification
  • Select the Verification Roles:
    • Set up the roles that will be permitted to perform the verification process.
  • Arrange Bot's Role:
    • Ensure that the bot's role is placed above the newly created verification roles in the server's role hierarchy. This allows the bot to assign and manage people roles effectively.
  • Select Roles on the Dashboard:
    • In the bot's dashboard, navigate to the Allowed Roles configuration section and select the roles that you want to allow to perform verification.
